St. Helena is the most popular of the Napa Valley wine towns located up Valley in between Yountville and Calistoga, about 20 minutes north of the city of Napa and 65 miles north of San Francisco. St. Helena is the quintessential wine country town where luxury meets sophistication and taste, yet it still has that small town charm that makes the area so special. Downtown St. Helena is lined with boutique shops, art galleries and restaurants while on the fringe of the city limits you will find numerous world famous wineries and vineyards.

The city was originally incorporated in 1874, the area being settled as early as the 1830's and covers and area of approximately 5 square miles. The population hovers around 6,000 residents and hosts many, many guests and tourists throughout the year. The winters are typically cool and wet with an average of 35 inches of precipitation while the summers range from warm to hot. Some of the bigger employers in St. Helena include the St. Helena Hospital, Trinchero Estates, Meadowood Napa Valley, Icon Estates and the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone.
